Sims Snow Globe

Category: Decorative -> Sculpture
Cost: $30
Poly Count: Low poly
EPs Required: None – base game compatible

I had originally planned to have this finished for Christmas, but that obviously didn’t happen – so you’re getting it as a (slightly delayed) New Year’s gift instead.

As you can see above, the snow is animated. It wouldn’t be a very fun snow globe if the snow were static, now would it? πŸ˜‰

The snow globe has four recolours for the base, and three for the house and the little snowman builder:

You can’t see it in the static images (obviously), but the light in the windows flickers – and at night, you can see that the windows actually are lit:

    • Glad you like! πŸ˜€ (BTW, you wouldn’t know anything about how this ended up being a Find at MTS, would you? ;)) I had a blast making it; it was one of those things that just popped into my head and then promptly took on a life of its own. (At first it was just the snow, the house and two trees; then I added the snowman; then I wanted somebody to be building the snowman; then I wanted the windows to be lit and animated; then I wanted another tree that nobody will see because it’s behind the house; then I wanted the snow on the ground to be a separate subset so I could make the bases shiny…)

A Pottery Christmas Village? That sounds adorable! πŸ™‚

  1. It’s the things that just pop into your head and take on a life of it’s own that seem to work out the best! This is great and I need to find a reason for my simmies to leave it sitting out all year long, lol. πŸ™‚ Thankies!

    • It is, isn’t it? The things of mine I’m the most satisfied with aren’t the ones that have been planned for ages (I tend to drag my feet on those), but the “OMG, I want to make a snow globe!” stuff. πŸ™‚ Glad you like it!

    • Glad you like it, Nonni! I had fun making it, and I’m really happy with how it turned out. And of course I don’t mind, I’m thrilled that you want to share it! πŸ™‚

  2. Awww that is such a wonderful idea and looks just perfect! Thank you so much for hard working πŸ™‚ *download*

    • Thank you very much. πŸ˜€ I’m glad you like it! As I said to Lee above, this was one of those ideas that just popped into my head (and then refused to unpop before I had finished it). I love things like that!

  3. Hi! Is this download for Windows 7? And do you need mediafire to download it? Please answer, By the way, it is Beautiful, Good Job though!

    • It’s which game you have that’s important, not which operating system. It doesn’t matter which kind of Windows you have, it can be Windows 95 or Windows XP or or Windows 7 or whatever. The only thing that differs between different Windows systems is where the game’s Downloads folder is located – see the FAQ tab for more info.

The important thing is that you have The Sims 2. My downloads are not for The Sims 3.

MediaFire isn’t a program, it’s a place to store files. All you have to do to download is click the “Download from MediaFire” button and then click on the green “Download” button in the pop-up window you get next.

And thank you! I’m glad you like it. πŸ™‚
